What versions of Unreal engine do you currently support?

We support Unreal 5.4, with legacy support for Unreal 5.2 and 5.3

Performance/System Requirements
Do you have a mac version?

No, not yet. Mac has not adopted the direct-X standard graphics methods in favor of their own proprietary language, Metal. We have scheduled testing to see if we can port our beam and light materials to use Metal in the future.

Performance/System Requirements
What are your system requirements?

You will need a windows PC, with a 6-core 4ghz processor or better (8 core 5ghz recommended), 16gb of ram (32/64 recommended) an Nvidia RTX GPU with at least 6gb of VRAM (RTX 4090 recommended), and SSD or NVME drive for storage, an available gigabit ethernet port for console connectivity, and a stable, non-firewalled internet connection for licenses

Performance/System Requirements
Can I render Per Pixel LED tape?

Yes, we have a custom LED tape Blueprint. Simply create a mesh for the LED tape in a 3rd party modeling software with UV’s from 0-1 along the direction of the tape. You can then specify the number of pixels it uses under 1 universe. If you have multiple universes of LED tape just slice into parts for each universe.

Features
Can I use Carbon without a console for renders?

Yes! We now have included a built-in console with saveable presets

Features
Can I make my own fixture?

Not yet. Building a fixture in carbon is a painstaking and highly technical process. We are working on building a more user-friendly fixture system so our users can build and modify their own fixtures, and submit fixtures for potential inclusion in the global fixture library. If you are interested in participating in building fixtures for Carbon in the future, please contact us at [email protected]
